I just wanted to tell all of you that helped in some
way, THANK YOU for all you did to help make our 1st
Annual Jack Blackwell Memorial Poker Run a success!
Thanks for participating, donating, buying, cooking,
cleaning, working to register and check-in
cards, dancing, and laughing and having fun! Whatever
you did to help us out, we appreciate your support!
Minnie Herdison, our 1st place winner, with a 10 high
straight flush, donated her $378, back to the Eagle
Riders. Ferral Hall, the 2nd place winner, with a
flush, also, donated is $252 back. Wow! What tremendous
people they are! They both said they wanted to help the
kids during the holidays and thanks to them, we'll be
able to do so much more!
Our sponsors: Bryant and Starla Sober, Jimmy Roberts,
Rick Vaughn, and Gary Don Slavens, all certainly stepped
up to the plate on Saturday, and not only donated,
previously as sponsors, but donated much more during our
"Auction".
We certainly appreciate Billy Ray Hoffman for
supplying us with the Earl Hearon Band that night for
the free dance. We have received many compliments and "WOW's"!
We made a grand total of $3,104. Not bad for day, in
a little town! Give yourselves a pat on the back!
Be sure to get out and eat Glen and Delores' cooking
the month of September, and Pat Branham's and Steve
Cole's cooking during the month of October. They have
great menus planned, so help their charity out each
month, if you get a chance!
